BLDP, CBAY, NIU, SPWR, USCR -- Stock Charts to Watch

Charts of the Day video for Monday October 5th, 2020

Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLDP) on Monday popped 1.51, or 9.4%, to 17.54, with a session high of 17.58, on 5 million shares traded. This is the highest close since July. It looks to me like it’s breaking out. The declining topsline was already taken out, and at this point, it may be searching for more. For starters, my target is around 19, and then 21.

CymaBay Therapeutics, Inc. (CBAY) is one of our swing trades that is doing well. Last week it broke out, backed off on Friday, and on Monday it reversed and moved up 1.02, or 32.5, to 4.15, with a session high of 4.78, on 39 million shares traded. This is a new closing high and the highest level since it broke down in June of last year. That makes it about a 16-month high. At this point, I am targeting 9.00.

Niu Technologies (NIU) on Monday popped 1.52, or 7%, to 23.02, with a session high of 23.31, on 1.1 million shares traded. It broke out three days ago and has accelerated since with the volume picking up as well. It is now above the double-top resistance, so I’m looking for a test of 25 3/4.

SunPower Corporation (SPWR), one of our old swings, is doing great. It has now been up seven days in a row, and on Monday it spiked 2.00, 14.75%, to 15.56, with a session high of 15.94, on 14.3 million shares traded, and then gained another 44 cents in after-hours, taking it to 16.00. Although there is some resistance around 17, my next target, I think it can make it near 19-20 on a spike.

U.S. Concrete, Inc. (USCR) jumped 1.98, or 6.7%, to 31.59, with a session high of 356,041 shares traded on Monday. It broke through a double top, and out of a major congestion zone that’s taken 3-4 months to develop. Targets going forward are 34 and 40.
