Amyris, Inc. (AMRS) on Tuesday moved up 1.03, or 14.67%, to 8.07, with a session high of 8.27, on 9.6 million shares traded. ARMS had a November low of under 2.00. It ripped to over 8.00 for 300% gain in two months. Nevertheless, the way the momentum is on this stock, and with a break out of a massive base pattern, it could very well see 9.00, and even 11, before the pullback begins. It is long in the tooth, so be careful.
Apache Corporation (APA), which we put a swing on Monday, popped nicely on Tuesday for 1.41, or 9.55%, to 16.18, with a session high of 16.73, on 15 million shares traded. It was up an additional 12 cents to 16.30 in after-hours. Resistance is near 17, or just underneath it. If APA takes it out 17, we may see it make a quick run to 19 or 20. It does look like it is about to make a good move.
Futu Holdings Limited (FUTU) on Tuesday jumped 9.67, or 19.76%, to 58.61, with a session high of 59.73, on 8.7 million shares traded, the biggest volume I have seen since the IPO. It did spike up toward what looks like a potential 5th-wave channel top. It might be a little bit long in the tooth here, so be careful with this one. Going forward you have got to use stops. Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (BTC) (GBTC) exploded 4.33, or 12.34%, on Tuesday, to a new all-time session high at 39.54, and closed at 39.41, on 19.2 million shares traded. It took out the spike high at the end of 2017. It might now run toward high 40’s, low 50’s. This is a spectacular-looking chart.
Veru Inc. (VERU) popped out of a falling wedge and a big engulfing reversal bar, going from a 7.64 low to Tuesday’s session high of 10.20, with a move up of 1.71, on 21%, to 9.76, on over 11 million shares traded. The volume increased to the best in three weeks. It looks to me like a test of 11 1/2 is due, maybe as early as Wednesday.
United States Steel Corporation (X) is on the run. It broke out of a flag on Tuesday, and popped 1.05, or 6.18, to 18.20, with a midafternoon session high of 18.73, on 16.5 million shares traded. Right now, it looks like a stock that wants to go higher. If it breaks out above 19 1/2, the targets are 22 1/2, and then the high 20’s.
