The stock market had a big day on Wednesday. Some of the strong longs are looking great, so we’ll take a look at those.

The Boeing Company (BA) had a great day after earnings came out on Wednesday and were way above expectations. Apparently, this was the first quarter that Boeing hadn’t reported a “slip, or screw-up,” on the 787 Dreamliner since the aircraft’s conception. This stock had a long consolidation over the last 4 months, which may have been broken on Wednesday. It gapped up through the moving averages, ran, and then exploded to 77.08, up 3.87, or 5.29%, on 10.6 million shares. That’s the biggest volume since the end of January. It was a very significant day for Boeing. At this point, if it gets a follow-through, it looks like it’s going to go up toward the low 80’s short-term.

GNC Holdings Inc. (GNC) had a big day on Wednesday as it reached an new all-time high, up 4.41 to 39.89, or 12.4%, on 5.1 million shares. The top of the channel was taken out with a thrust. It closed a little less than a point off the high, but still it was a nice day for this stock. It appears to have more upside. Look for something up around 43 – 44 short-term.

Harley-Davidson, Inc. (HOG) has been in an uptrend since the 2009 lows. It’s gone from below 8.00 up into the 53 range. Wednesday, it jumped 3.13 to 53.49, or 6.2%, on 5.7 million shares. It has a nice rising channel, and at this point, look for this stock to get up into the 60 – 62 range. This could be a swing trade here. Keep an eye on this one.

Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ONXX) had a key day on Wednesday. It peaked a year ago in May, again with a spike up in December, and the double-top was broken on Wednesday with a thrust. Recently it tested its trend line and price support, bounced off of it, had problems with the declining topsline, backed off to test the moving averages, and slowly but surely, ran up through that line, popping 3.89 to 47.33, or 9%, on 6.2 million shares on Wednesday. That’s the biggest volume since December. Look for an extension that takes this up to the 53 – 54 zone short-term.
