AGEN, AMRN, ICAD, ROKU — Stock Charts to Watch

Charts of the Day video for Thursday January 17th, 2019

AGEN, AMRN, ICAD, ROKU

It was an interesting day on Wall Street on Thursday, and a positive session with good technicals. It may have been a difficult trading session, maybe not, but a lot of stocks that we follow did well. Let’s take a look at a few of them and a few others that look intriguing.

Agenus Inc. (AGEN) put out a swing and had a nice follow-through. I love the base, breakout, and the trending pattern. On Thursday, it popped 54 cents, or 17%, to 3.73, on 6.5 million shares, and looks to me like it might be accelerating. It could be a ramp-up time for this stock. If it is, there’s a possibility it might go to 4 3/4 going forward. Stay tuned.

Amarin Corporation (AMRN) had a little pop out of a 4-day flag on Thursday, bouncing 65 cents, or 3.9%, to 17.26, on 8.95 million shares. That’s not a big follow-through, but the volume was pretty good. Late in the day it pulled back and delve into a coil. I like the overall pattern. I think it might be a rising channel. Next target is 18, 19, and 19 3/4.

Swing trade iCAD, Inc. (ICAD) continues to development. After the big pop and pullback for four weeks, it popped out and formed a wedge, and got to resistance and backed off. On Thursday, it stuck its head through resistance, popping 28 cents, or 7%, to 4.55, on 340,584 shares traded, and backed off again. The volume is pretty decent. It looks to me like this stock is ready for a move into 5 1/4, and then 6 area.

Roku, Inc. (ROKU) has a good set-up as it came out of a declining channel, and a breakaway gap on big volume and is forming a wedge. On Thursday, it reversed to the upside 1.74, or 4.36%, to 41.63, on 14 million shares. That’s strong volume. Looking for a move to breakout to 441/2-5, 49, and then 55-6 going forward.
